Clear assembly datums, functional surfaces, cosmetic expectations and hardware relationships before quotation to reduce later rework.
Define Where Assembly Starts
Identify the datums used by the base, interfaces, rails or internal modules, then mark critical holes and fit dimensions. Without a shared datum structure, individually acceptable parts can still miss alignment in final assembly.
Separate Functional and Cosmetic Requirements
Separate load-bearing, grounding, thermal and interface zones from primary cosmetic surfaces. Define acceptable weld visibility, rack marks, color variation and texture so appearance is not left to subjective judgment.
Include Hardware and Assembly Direction
Inserted hardware, studs, hinges, handles and seals affect holes, bend sequence and tool access. Include part references, orientation and assembly responsibility in the RFQ package.
